Crown-of-thorns Starfish
The world is filled with fascinating
animals...on land, in the air, and under the sea. This A to Z challenge, hosted
by the KICKS KIDS CLUB (where parents, teachers, and librarians find FREE
resources supporting children's character development), will introduce kids to
some of the more interesting creatures found in the deep blue ocean...
- Starfish usually have only 5 arms but the crown-of-thorns starfish can have up to 21 arms, all covered with venomous thorns
- Their main food source is coral reefs.
- Crown-of-thorns starfish are mainly nocturnal creatures, feeding at night.

The crown of thorns is one well defended critter isn't it :) You wouldn't want to step on one of those.

Hi Natasha! Lol...you're so right. If this little fella was in the desert we'd be calling him a "cactus" fish...;~)

ReplyDeleteNice theme!
Hi Jemima! I've never heard of this creature before. It might be harsh on the environment, but it sure is pretty...;~)

I didn't know that. Good thing that I don't like sea diving or swimming in the ocean.
