A TO Z CHALLENGE: LETTER B






 Bat Rays


The world is filled with fascinating animals...on land, in the air, and under the sea. This A to Z challenge, hosted by the KICKS KIDS CLUB (where parents, teachers, and librarians find FREE resources supporting children's character development), will introduce kids to some of the more interesting creatures found in the deep blue ocean...

  • The bay ray likes to hunt for small marine life like crabs, shrimp, or mollusks.
  • They can live up to 23 years.
  • Females are larger than the males and can weigh up to 200 pounds with a wing span of six feet.

    I was just reading a novel earlier today that had a part about bat rays in. I learned there that the females are larger than the males and they do live births like sharks.

      Hi Ann! There were moments in my youth that I debated becoming either a veterinarian or a marine biologist. I grew up to be a writer about such things as well as a Senior Certified Taekwondo Instructor. Who knew I would end up like this? Lol...
